I am an independent researcher and designer with an interdisciplinary practice driven by a deep sense of curiosity. I work primarily as a design researcher in the cultural and civic sectors especially within libraries, education, and arts organizations. I also work with corporations whose projects align with my values and interests. Through my work, I’ve found that design research extends naturally into experiential learning, and building capacity for creativity and curiosity.

I have an interdisciplinary PhD from the University of California, Irvine centered on design and anthropology. Previously, I was a design researcher at IDEO and at the Mayo Clinic. In my freelance practice, I have collaborated with the following organizations: Chicago Public Library, Aarhus Public Library, Transcend Education, New Schools Venture Fund, Green Card Voices, The Arts Club of Chicago, Mana Contemporary, The Patient Revolution, Hennepin County Medical Center, Hawthorne Gardening Company and Samsung. I've also taught design students at Art Center College of Design and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
