I am a designer and researcher with an interdisciplinary practice driven by a deep sense of curiosity. My freelance work focuses on three fundamental areas: design research, trend research, and collaborating with organizations to build their capacity for creativity and curiosity. Generally, I work with organizations in the cultural and civic sectors especially libraries, education, and the arts, and occasionally with corporations whose projects that are aligned with my values. My methodologies are grounded in theories from ethnography, human-centered design, trend forecasting, curation, and conceptual art.

I have an interdisciplinary PhD from the University of California, Irvine focused on design and ethnography. Previously, I was a design researcher at IDEO, and at the Mayo Clinic. Over the past few years, in my freelance practice, I have worked with the following organizations: Chicago Public Library, Aarhus Public Library, Hawthorne Gardening Company, Copenhagen Institute for Future Studies, Samsung, Hennepin County Medical Center, The Patient Revolution, The Arts Club of Chicago, Mana Contemporary, New Schools Venture Fund, and Transcend Education. I've also taught design students at Art Center College of Design and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
